Overview

5 Days Rwanda Primate Adventure involves exploring Volcanoes National Park in the Northwestern parts Rwanda on primate adventure. Furthermore, the package is designed for you to enjoy a close encounter with these endangered mountain gorillas in the wild and also includes golden monkey tracking. Additionally, your gorilla safari package is exceptional in that you will have a magical encounter of both mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural environment all while in Volcanoes NP Rwanda.

Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda

Firstly, board your international flight to Rwanda’s capital, Kigali. Once you arrive, you will be swiftly escorted by our representative who will transfer you to your chosen accommodation for a good rest and warm up for the Rwanda primate adventure.
Thereafter, you’ll have an opportunity to visit the bustling local markets and the Caplaki Craft Co-operative where you’ll find local craftsmen in wooden huts. They’ll be selling handicrafts, including jewelry, paintings, batik, fabrics, wood carvings, traditional masks, baskets, bags, scarves and also beadwork.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour.

You will have breakfast at the lodge and later you will visit the genocide museum in Kigali and Inema Arts Gallery.
Lunch will be in Kigali.
If time permits, you will visit a local market.
Afterwards, return to your hotel for the evening. Have dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Kigali to Volcanoes NP

Have breakfast at the hotel and check out. At 9:00 a.m. set off for Musanze & Volcanoes National Park region for your Rwanda primate adventure.
The drive is scenic with beautiful landscapes. You will have a brief stop en route at The Dian Fossey Foundation which is based in the town of Ruhengeri to learn about the lady who started the conservation work of Gorillas and how her legacy continues.
Later, transfer to your lodge for check in, followed by a late lunch and later relaxation.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking day

Have a tasty cup of an African coffee or tea, leave the lodge with some packed lunch and bottled water plus perhaps a walking stick or get it at the park offices. Get oriented about gorilla trekking regulations, have a gorilla group to track the 13 families habituated in Volcanoes NP and begin tracking to see the gorillas. This will be a huge wildlife adventure of 2-6 hours which includes one hour face to face with gorillas and after, walk back to relax. Late in the evening, have cultural visit at Iby’iwachu village where you will have full evening entertainment.

Day 5: Golden monkey trek and return to Kigali

Have the best of your morning breakfast, after, assemble for golden monkey tracking regulation orientation. A golden monkey trek today will take from 2 to 4 hours and it covers one hour with rare golden monkeys. Walk back, check out of the lodge and return to Kigali which marks the end of the Rwanda primate adventure.
