Day 1. Warm welcome to the pearl of Africa

Depending on your time of arrive, you will meet on arrival driver guide from Pamoja Tours and Travel who will transfer you to Lake Victoria serene hotel for your check in, dinner and an overnight. Day 2. Domestic flight to Queen Elizabeth NP

Today after your breakfast you will be taken to Entebbe Airport to catch your fly in safari to Kasese (Queen Elizabeth N.P.) The journey will take you for about 2 hour to reach Kasese air strip.

Upon arrival in Kasese, you will be picked up from the airstrip by a representative of Pamoja Tours heading to your accommodation which Mweya Safari Lodge located in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Mweya peninsula. Watch wildlife from your private verandah and fall asleep to the roaring of lions on the distant savannah. This truly is Africa!

Day 3. Game drive and boat cruise along kazinga channel

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. Lions are often sighted both inside and at the entrance to the park.

Today you wake up early. A little before sunrise coffee/tea will be served at the lodge before you head out for a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light. You will search for all the wildlife in the park and are likely to come across Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Water-buck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs.

Meals

A well-deserved lunch will be served back at the lodge in the late morning.
In the afternoon you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds.

Optional activities:

– Hot Air Balloon Safari (US$ 380 per person.)
– Lion tracking (US$ 85 per person) – actively participate in monitoring some of lions in the park (95% chances to see them).

Day 4. Drive to Ishasha for tree climbing lions

Today you will be transferred to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth N.P. This area is called Ishasha and is famous for its tree-climbing lions.

To escape from the heat during the day, the lions learned how to climb the fig trees. If you’re lucky you might spot a few during your afternoon game drive.

After the game-drive, you will be taken to Ishasha Wilderness Camp, a very nice and luxurious lodge with wonderful views over the savannah and a river packed with hippo! Lunch and dinner and overnight stay at Ishasha Wilderness Camp

Day 5. Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After breakfast you will do another game drive and have chance to spot the tree climbing lions. After lunch at Ishasha Wilderness Camp you will be transferred to Buhoma in Bwindi, home of the mountain gorillas.

Buhoma community Haven Lodge is a spacious site lying above Buhoma village, a 5-minute drive from the main road, and this elevated location guarantees best views across Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
It was opened in December 2014 to help Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America ( bmcda) cater for clients interested in something more than budget accommodation.

Day 6. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi forest

On this day, prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare mountain gorillas. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their safari in Uganda. The gorillas you will track also belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

Your gorilla trekking will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ habitat. En-route, your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots.

Once the gorillas have been located, you will have a maximum of one hour with them. Thereafter you will come back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7. Transfer to Murchison Falls NP

Today after your breakfast you will go to the Kihihi airstrip and you will continue your trip to Murchison Falls NP in the north of Uganda. There is no airstrip direct from Kihihi to Murchison Falls NP, so you will fly via Entebbe.

On arrival you will be transferred to Bakers Lodge, your amazing accommodation for the next two nights.
The views onto the river are vast and also magnificent with islands hosting nesting egret birds, elephants bathing and pods of hippos regularly viewed. All cottages have uninterrupted river views and there is a swimming pool too.

Day 8. Game drive and boat cruise

After an early breakfast, tour the Northern section of Murchison with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kob and also lions, the leopards (if you are lucky) plus a variety of bird species.

Return to your accommodation for lunch and a brief repose. After lunch, you will embark on a 3-hour boat trip to the base of the Falls. This trip is the highlight of the safari in Murchison Falls since it allows you to get up close to the animal species within the water. Cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls. You will also have an opportunity to take thousands of pictures, so carry your camera with you if you like.

More to do

Also, proceed for a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike is a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Miss it only if you must! Return to your accommodation.

Day 9. Top of the fall, Entebbe

In the morning you will drive to the top of the Murchison Falls. Here you will have some time to walk around. From here you have a wonderful view and fantastic photo opportunities!

After your visit of to the top of the waterfalls, you will go back to your accommodation where you will have an early lunch (or if you prefer you can request for a packed lunch). Then time has gone to leave Murchison Falls NP. You will transfer to the airstrip back to Entebbe.
